Who we are
EdgelineQS provides quantity surveying, estimating and commercial support services. EdgelineQS is based in Northern Ireland and supports clients across the UK. For anything in this policy, contact Luke@edgelineqs.com.
What enquiry data we collect
When you submit an enquiry or join a waiting list, we collect:
- Your name, company name, email address and phone/WhatsApp numbers
- Project details you choose to provide — location, description, approximate value and tender deadlines
- The service you are interested in and any message you write
- Documents you choose to upload (see below)
We collect this information because you send it to us to ask about our services — the lawful basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
Why project files are uploaded and how they are used
The contact form lets you upload drawings, Bills of Quantities, schedules, specifications, tender packs and contract documents. These files are uploaded for one purpose: so EdgelineQS can review the scope of your project and respond to your enquiry. They are used only to assess and deliver the support you have asked about.
Uploaded documents are never made public. They are stored in private storage, are not indexed or shared, and are accessible only to EdgelineQS through an authenticated admin area.
How long we keep data and files
Enquiry details and uploaded documents are retained while your enquiry is live and, where work proceeds, for the duration of the engagement plus a reasonable period for record-keeping (typically up to six years, in line with contractual limitation periods). Files attached to enquiries that do not proceed are deleted within a reasonable period — typically twelve months — or earlier on request.
Requesting deletion
You can ask us to delete your enquiry data and uploaded files at any time by emailing Luke@edgelineqs.com. We will confirm deletion unless we are required to retain specific records by law or an ongoing contract.
Payments and invoicing (future)
EdgelineQS plans to sell digital templates and software in future. When that happens, payments, invoices and related billing data will be handled by Stripe as payment processor, and this policy will be updated before any payment functionality goes live. EdgelineQS does not store card details.
Customer accounts and support access
Where customer accounts are introduced, your purchased files, libraries and account data are private by default. If you request support, any access by EdgelineQS to your files or resource libraries is permission-based and transparent: you grant it explicitly, it is limited to the files needed, it expires automatically, and it can be revoked at any time. EdgelineQS does not operate hidden or undisclosed access to customer-owned data.
Who we share data with
- Email delivery provider — to send enquiry notifications
- Cloud hosting and database/storage providers — to run this website
- Stripe — only if and when payments are introduced
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. To exercise any of them, email Luke@edgelineqs.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
